The 30" DOT handicap stencil is a standard stencil that can be used on top of an already existing handicap project or painted anew atop of any flat pavement. This specific stencil is ADA compliant and meets the regulations for ease of handicap access by the Access Board. When used with white paint, the stencil meets most state and local handicap symbol requirements for freedom of use. It measures 42" by 42", giving it a perfect square shape that can fit easily into any parking lot space or handicap stall.
There are four stencil grades that can be selected when the stencil is being made. Each comes with their own benefits of durability and affordability, and can accommodate most types of projects. If you’re looking for something that is perfect for a single use, or a project that isn’t used every day, try the thinnest material which is the 0.30" HIPS. This grade is ultra thin, allowing for flexibility that is still durable when lying flat against the pavement. The next step higher is the 1/16" LDPE, which is a light duty material that offers flexibility over thickness. This is a cost effective recommendation for single-time or few-time use. For something more rigid and hardy, the ?" grade is the industry standard and most common material. It is named the PRO-Grade because most industry professionals use it for their stencil needs. Stripers can lay the material flat, where it will stay still and withstand over 3000psi of spray paint power. With care, it can last for up to a decade. For something even more long-lasting, the 0.080 ALU is very cost effective. It is coated with aluminum and can never wear down or bend. This can be reused an infinite amount of times for the largest projects.
