HVLP Sprayers Give The Finest Finishes, Here’s How:

When it comes to getting a factory finish you must use the right equipment to get the job done. HVLP sprayers are uniquely suited for this level of quality and are designed to spray stains, sealers, light-bodied varnishes, shellac and lacquer.

How they work: Using a high volume of air at a low pressure they aerosolize the liquid into a fine mist. This works the same way as placing your thumb over a hose of water changes the stream to a spray. What makes HVLP sprayers different is that by working with High Volume Low Pressure, the spray is the ultimate in control and fineness.

High Transfer Efficiency: The spray is low pressure, and that allows the product being used to hit the surface gently, and greatly reduces the bounce back effect. Instead of being fired out of the spray gun at high speed, causing the mist to bounce off the surface, the low pressure spray coats the surface gently and smoothly, without all that bounce back. The result is 65 to 90% of the product reaching the surface, one of the highest rates of transfer efficiency of all equipment.

Less Overspray: This method gives you better control, resulting in far less overspray. HVLP sprayers are more efficient at getting the product to the work surface, and less on the edges of your work area.

Factory Finish Results: All of these things combine to result in the thinnest and smoothest coat of finish. Thinner dries faster, and lessens the risk of dust getting into the layer. When used for painting cars and boats, your finish will look like it came right from the factory. Best of all, you use the same equipment to seal it with a clear coat.

Benefits are huge: Due to the way this equipment works, you get benefits you just can’t get with other tools.

Quicker Prep Time: With less overspray to worry about, masking takes up far less time, as you don’t have to protect as much area past where you are working.

Less Waste: Between less overspray and bounce back, far more of your paint, stain, or lacquer is getting to the work area. That means you spend less money buying product.

Better Air Quality: Not only is there less waste, there is less of it in the air. The air filters you and your crew wear won’t have to work nearly as hard. Plus, in locations where environmental concerns need to be met, HVLP sprayers are the best at minimizing air quality hazards.

Clean Up Is Faster: Just as the prep time is made easier, so is the clean up. There is less masking and overspray to clean up, and only one piece of equipment to clean.

For a factory grade finish when working with stains, clear coats, lacquers, and paint, be sure to get the right tool for the job. For efficiency & control, to save time & money, HVLP sprayers will get the job done right.
